The Programme Commentary

Overall progress within the Programme is as follows :

  • RIS005 - Waiting for details from supplier for SSO set up
  • RIS007 - Currently user acceptance testing underway for v5.15.2-1
  • RIS008 - Options paper submitted to Applications Director, activity progressing with prototype
  • RIS012 - Development environment updated to v3.1
  • RIS011 - Project Manager allocated for the project to commence in mid October

 

For REF2021 interest projects have been added and a communication has been issued out to all project manager for any new projects to be included.

 

Please find link to REF2021 Portfolio page. Some interest projects have been added to the list and a further communication to project managers to highlight importance of REF2021 and to confirm if any other projects should be recorded.

  • Initial Completion report reviewed by Project Sponsor 
  • Meeting held between Dev Tech resource and Infonetica regarding single sign on - documentation to be exchanged
  • New domain name requested from ITI
Issues
  • SSO required to be available for 31st October and closure date to be extended to cover this 
Next Steps
  • Provision of single sign on to test
  • Completion report completed and project closure approval

The project status is AMBER amend closure date to end of October

 

RIS007 PURE Upgrades v5.13 to 5.15

Achievements in Last Period 

  • Upgrade Dev environment to Pure 5.15.2-1
  • Upgrade Test environment to Pure 5.15.2-1 and Java Upgrade
  • Commenced UAT within Business teams for 6 weeks
  • Prep for Cloud Portal

Issues

  • Due to delay in receiving 5.15.2-1 release project is 2 weeks behind schedule 
  • Business team require 6 weeks to complete UAT and tidy data
  • Revised milestones for remaining activity completed, resulting in Live deployment of Java and pure 5.15.2-1 now 19th November 2019
  • Review budget as activity is reduced

Next Steps 

  • Continue and complete UAT
  • Prep for Cloud Portal - schedule meeting with Elsevier end of October / early November
  • Prep for Live deployment

RIS008 REF2021 Data Requirements Analysis

Achievements in Last Period
  • Prototype development has been progressed
  • Options Paper updated and sent to Applications Director 
  • Remaining milestones re-planned

Issues

  • Documents have not been circulated to a wider audience due to waiting on information form Core Systems
  • Pinning down the requirements for the prototype took much longer than anticipated. This was attributed to consideration given to various edge cases.

Next Steps 

  • Circulate Options Paper to wider audience
  • Move project to closure

  • Discussions round changes to Shibboleth taking place
