The Programme Commentary

Overall progress within the Programme is as follows :

  • RES069 - UAT signed off with exception of Web Services expected 8/04/19, preparations underway for deployment to Live being planned for weekend 19/21 April.
  • RIS005 - Contract Awarded, terms and conditions being formalised
  • RIS006 - Organising user acceptance testing and revising milestones for project deployment to live early May
  • RIS007 - Project currently suspended, expecting this to be restarted mid April. Implications on budget for next financial year will be reviewed on reinstatement of project.
  • RIS008 - Progress in producing documentation, early sight of draft options paper to aid discussions around funding for implementation project

All projects have been impacted due to the unavailability of assigned project manager who has been on leave (annual and sick) leave since 8th March, the current projects have been allocated to other project managers in the interim until return date has been confirmed, please note these projects are in addition to their own current workload. Options for resourcing are being explored by RIS Programme Manager and ISG Portfolio Manager

Activities completed
  • UAT functional tests confirmed as working and signed off on 01/04/19, exception is web services

Issues

  • Deployment date being planned over a weekend period 19/21st April due to time to cover sync jobs and conversion activities - reviewing risks associated with this approach and assurance resource on all teams is available e.g. RIS, IS Apps and Elseveir
  • Web Service user to confirm testing sign off of 5.12.4 - currently on leave, sign off expected 08/04/19
  • PM currently on sick leave, resource options being explored
  • Submit revised milestones for IS Apps internal approval
  • Review remaining activities to assess any increase in effort required for remaining tasks

Achievements in Last Period
  • Terms and Conditions reviewed and comments forwarded to supplier for clarifications
  • Recommendation report signed off by Project Sponsor
  • Award letter issued out to supplier on 15/03/19
  • First design and Governance workshops held with business teams so progressing well for our first Infonetica meetings to be planned
Issues
  • The project being over budget, the original estimate was 60 days however this is now looking at 68 days which needs to be discussed with the Project Sponsor.
  • In discussion with Project Sponsor, if they require a project manager to implement the project or they only cover the remaining tasks around EASE integration and closure activity.
  • Remaining milestones and effort to be reviewed based on requirement if project manager needed to help implement to live
  • Current assigned PM is on sick leave and procurement resource on annual leave

Issues

  • Options paper draft version created as early sight required by project sponsor for discussion with Director of IS Apps to explore funding options for next project e.g. implementation of agreed options
  • Business analyst on sick leave for a period of time this month therefore some documentation completion delayed
  • Project manager currently off on sick leave , exploring options to support the project whilst they are on leave
  • Revised milestones and review budget
  • Request to estimate options costs to feed into IS Application Planning on 11th April this will divert resource away from completion of documentation
