Programme Commentary

Overall RIS programme is progressing  with the following  projects : -

  • RES069 - PURE Upgrade to New Project Model - resource conflict resolved with new milestones and additional budget agreed
  • RIS005 - Ethics Tool procurement- Due to a delay in finalising requirements and weightings for the ITT, PICCL 4 has been raised to amend the milestones to incorporate the delays encountered.
  • RIS006 - Worktribe Upgrade v3 planning has been approved however progress delayed due to Hotfix deployment (out with the scope of the project) UAT sign off not completed and will be impacted by the LIVE deployment of E-Financials over weekend of 09/11/18

New project initiated for RIS007 Pure upgrades v5.13 to v5.15

Confirmation and approval provided by Jeremy Upton, LUC to fund additional PM contract effort until December 2018. A PRAF has been submitted to IS to approve Fixed Term PM for the programme. Until this is approved and sourced we will require an extension to current contract PM especially to cover live deployment of UPM during January 2019.

Following the successful IS Applications Lunchtime Seminar session presented by Pauline Jones and Damon Querry, discussions around data analysis required for REF submission has been taking place. Alex Carter has approached programme to initiate a new project funded by Digital Transformation programme of 50 days for this analysis work to take place. Also high level review of impact of Core Systems has been discussed between Programme Manager and senior Business Analysis on Core Systems (Craig Middlemass), information to be shared.

Activities completed
  • UPM conversion jobs have run and daily check point meetings are underway
  • PURE 5.12.4 has been deployed into DEV and UPM conversions have begun
  • Errors within the financial breakdown and conversion jobs have been troubleshooted
  • Resource conflict for additional effort from Software Development has been secured for the following month
Issues

There is one issue to report at this stage:

  • The data conversion jobs within DEV require additional effort to resolve bugs, therefore PICCL 16 has been raised to extend the milestones
Next Steps
  • Testing of UPM in 5.12.4 complete (DEV)
  • Handover from Software Development to Development Technology complete
  • TEST upgraded to 5.12.4 with UPM enabled

Achievements in Last Period

  • Business requirements have been defined fruther and weightings applied

  • IS Apps requirements have been finalised for the ITT

  • Procurement strategy has been futher developed in line with weightings applied to each area

  • EQIA and DPIA have now been approved

Issues

Due to a delay in finalising requirements and weightings for the ITT, PICCL 4 has been raised to amend the milestones to incorporate the delays encountered.

  • Project Brief has been approved

  • Resource has been secured from IS Apps

Issues
  • There is one issue to report at this stage PICCL 2 - this PICCL seeks to extend the timescales due to a delay with implementing the Hotfix for 2.5 into LIVE (outwith the scope of this project) however until the Hotfix is implemented into all environments then the upgrade cannot proceed.
Next Steps 
  • PICCL 2 - revised timescales approved
  • Hotfix 2.5.491 deployed into LIVE (not within scope of this project)
  • Worktribe upgrade DEV and TEST to v3
