Report compiled by Sheila Fraser (IS Apps Programme Manager)
Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update
Commentary
This programme overall is GREEN as the projects are expected to complete within the year.
For DAS008 the ThankQ to IDM connector issues are now resolved and the transfer of remaining alumni records are complete. The remaining work to resolve the removal of the Events Booking functionality without impacting alumni ability to use Events Booking is now complete, as the issue was not caused by the project but another issue which has been resolved.
The Dev & Alumni Fundraising CRM business case and options appraisal 14/15 will instead be a small piece of business analysis to look at the as-is and to-be architecture in the expectation that ThankQ will be upgraded, with implementation in 16/17.
Resources
The portfolio budget is expected to be over by 10d at the end of the year; this is due to the work which has been done to support the BI/MI initiative, which includes work on the Data Governance Group and for the BI/MI Project Board. This has taken 5d to date and is now expected to take a further 10d.
The 1d contingency on the balance row is expected to be completed as part of AP45-064.

Dev & Alumni - Fundraising CRM business case and options appraisal 14/15 Discretionary (Funded) Planning June 2015 Delivery June/July 2015 RAG Status GREEN | Plan Development & Alumni will lead on the project, the IS Applications involvement is expected to be limited mainly to development resources in relation to estimation for any integration work that may be required. This is currently expected to be around 5d. 02-Feb-15 Following discussion with the Project Sponsor the business are not yet in a position where they need support from IS Applications in relation to the estimates for the Fundraising CRM Business Case and Options Appraisal. This is now likely to be in a further 3-4 months, so the 5d effort currently expected is now likely to be needed in June/July. There is a risk that the relevant resources will not be available in the timescales needed due to this being a prime time of year for holidays (see Risk2), hence the current AMBER status. 17-Apr-15 PRICCL60 D&A have decided that they will upgrade ThankQ, which will bring in a web-based client. D&A will review the current processes in 15/16 and determine where any deviation from the new standard from ThankQ would be needed for enhancements, as the view is to keep as close to the delivered product as possible and minimise enhancements. The implementation project from an IS Apps perspective will be to provide the infrastructure and access for ThankQ to be able to undertake the upgrade. The implementation is expected to be in 16/17, with the target date for deployment to LIVE as April/May 2017, due to the impact of the telethons meaning there is only a small window for the LIVE deployment to take place. As a result the project in this year will undertake a small business analysis to look at the as-is and to-be architecture and estimate what it would take to complete the work, so that it can be included in the 16/17 plan. Action with Portfolio Manager to assign a Project Manager at which point the project can start. The project is reverted to GREEN as it is expected that this can be assigned and be ready to start in June. Project start date: 01-Jun-15 (was 02-Feb-15). Dependencies Development & Alumni starting the business case. Potential overlap with other CRM projects: HSS004 CRM for HSS Options Appraisal and New University-wide CRM. |
