Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Overall Programme RAG: GREEN

The MVM programme continues at a time of significant change for MVM IT. The new LTW division is now in place, with resulting changes in MVM support, and the College is undertaking a strategic review of its IT services.

With the MVM002 project now re-started and re-planned the budget situation is clearer and the programme can expect this project to deliver most of the migration in this year.

This leaves around 40 days on hand for contingency for MVM002 and to use for some key analysis/project management pieces identified by the programme owner.

MVM003 is a separate 'non-Apps' analysis piece. MVM005 is a funded development managed by the Apps Development Team - the issues around this project have also been resolved.

Report completed by Dave Berry for March 2015

Achievements in Last Period

Work resumed on the build and the work in progress was presented to the project sponsor to review the design.  This allowed the sponsor to request some changes to the UI and workflow, in time for these changes to be incorporated into the rest of the build.

The schedule for testing was revised to allow for the sponsor's unavailability due to leave and exam commitments. The meeting also discussed compensation for time spent building the previous version.  It was agreed that IS Apps would write-off three days of the build so far.  (See https://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/project/mvm005/issues/8 ).

Issues

Greg will be leaving the University at the end of May.  He will hand over responsibility for this project to Ryan.  The project sponsor will endeavour to test the system before the end of May so that Greg can contribute to any rework required.  IS Apps will contribute three days of effort for this handover activity free of charge.  (See https://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/project/mvm005/issues/7 ).

Next Steps

Add the finishing touches to the build and deliver the system to the project sponsor for testing,
