Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update
The MVM programme continues at a time of significant change for MVM IT. The new LTW division is now in place, with resulting changes in MVM support, and the College is undertaking a strategic review of its IT services.
For now, and already as a result of these chnages, the main project remains the MVM002 Transition of MVM Hosted Application to IS Infrastructure. 120 days are set aside for this project, but much will depend on the MVM College IT review and how it prioritises applications and sets out a road map for them.
Core funding days continue to fund small pieces of analysiswork as per last year, and also some days are given for analysis of possible TRISTAN replacement.
MVM001 is a few days over its funded budget, and this will need addressed in due course. Nothing urgent at ths stage.

Possible TRISTAN Replacement | The current position is that Liverpool no longer wish to collaborate with Edinburgh on developing software to replace TRISTAN. If MVM ask IS Apps to set up and resource a project to do so, this would be a major project in terms of effort, complexity and reputation for the University. |

Milestones
RAG Status AMBER | Report completed by Maurice Franceschi for August 2014The budget likely to be insufficient to do the work in 14/15 - this is why the status of the project is AMBER 1. Simple Hosting is completed 2. WordPress Migration is taking a lot longer than had been planned, as for most websites there is bespoke work needed to fix the themes which break on migration. There is no need to regard these as 'Complex' per se, and they can migrate to the c-panel LAMP. 3. The MVM College IT Review is in draft form and out for senior management review. The project is dependant on this review in order to prioritise the 'almost simple' and 'complex' applications which we have as planned for our next stages. Rather than postpone all activity, Michael and Matt will review the list of services and select those which the project could line up to migrate next - the 'dead certs' - prioritising as best they can, perhaps with regard to the servers they are on. 4 . The project is at the stage where we have to set out the resource demands on Applications, Michael's team, Gary and Fernando, ITI. Once a date is confirmed for the completion of the MVM College report, We will set a meeting soon after where we can prioritise the work and do some initial estimates on effort, so we can cofnirm with management that the team members are to be resourced to this project as estimated. 5. In the anticipation that the College MVM Report wil defer final decision on the road map for some services until next year, an interim position proposed by Michael for consideration was to bring the existing MVM-services servers in 'The Cupboard' into the IS infrastructure as-is. That is, keep the machines physically where they are but connect them to the IS infrastracture as well as set up formal, regular room monitoring and upgrade of the space to required IS environment standards. Or, physically move the racks to an ITI server room Garry to look into this and report back to the team on risks, effort, doability, desirability. Maurice to talk to Project Sponsor to check that this satisifies the project scope, in that this would consititute 'a migration' to IS Infrastructure. If not, woudl it suffice as an interim position to host the services for which the medium-term or longer-term strategy has not been decided. 6. Stefan and Alister to review the Pro-Forma (using the eeMec example) and get back to Michael with any final tweaks. Achievements in Last Period
