RAG Status RED

Report by Sue Woodger for October 2019

Achievements in last period

  • Developer now making progress with Windows build but will be affected by issues affecting Linux build

Issues

  • Both showstoppers issues have been lodged with Adobe but they are not engaging well with the issues . A patch has been supplied for the ORM issue w/b 4 Nov but it is not working as expected.

Next Steps

  • Developer is working on the patch supplied by Adobe to see if he can get it working
  • If after two week this has not been resolved a decision will be made on whether we upgrade to another version

Description: Project is RED. The ColdFusion upgrade to version 2018 has encountered two showstoppers. Both showstoppers are bugs with the current ColdFusion version 2018. One of the show stopper has been addressed by a work around (Too many open files filling up the VM), while the other showstopper is still being worked on with Adobe (Oracle sequences not existing (Oracle sequences not existing ).

Plan: If the outstanding showstopper cannot be resolved in the next 2 weeks, a review will take place if we should stop upgrading and remain on the current ColdFusion version or upgrading to another version is an option. In addition an additional task of 5 days has been added to the project. The additional task is to get a review of all ColdFusion applications and what the lifespan for each application is. These issues have impacts on timescales, budget and scope.

Impact: This impacts the security of existing applications as CF10 has been out of core support since 16 May 16 with end of life at May 2019

Deliver Decommissioning Complete 22-May-2020
Deliver Delivery complete 05-Jun-2020

RAG Status: Overall status is AMBER because of delays to getting plans for migrations, although the milestones have not yet been impacted. Also, the current PM will be handing this project over to a new PM so there is an associated risk round this.

Core Systems have conflicted on project manager, requiring replanning of several projects and possibly suspension. Technical issues on INF135 will impact on other projects and potentially budget for 19/20 and 20/21.
