Achievements in Last Period

• End of Planning milestone achieved 29 April. All relevant parties have now agreed on project Brief. Mark Lang; Bill Lee, Heather Larnach; Stefan Kaempf; Maurice Franceschi.

Issues

• No major issues. 

Next Steps

• Next steps are discuss policy. Meeting scheduled 16 May to discuss ITI draft policy and retention proposals raised by project team. PM encouraged attendees to consider potential ideas prior to next meeting.

CF10 Updates

Achievements in last period

• Following the resource conflict with FIN119 we had the project priority raised to Highest wef 22 April as CF10 was out of support from 16 May 2019 meaning that the system would be unsupported with no patching done

Issues

• We were conflicted with FIN119 at the beginning of April for Dev resource and lost as FIN119 was highest priority
• PM understood that we were to get Dev resource back from 6 May but there are now further conflicts on Dev time. FIN119 is still ongoing and MLE005 need Dev CF time – all three projects are highest priority. Plus the same resource is also needed for timetabling

Commentary: RAG upgraded to RED again due to resourcing issues getting Dev time resulting in no confidence in current milestones . Project is yet again competing for resource having already lost it to FIN119. Despite having priority promoted to highest the project is up against 2 other projects also with highest priority. This is pushing timescales out again and although CF10 is out of support on 16 May 2019 it is now unlikely to deliver before the end of July 2019 . The resource conflict is being submitted by FIN119 this week. It should also be noted that these resource conflicts are delaying the project considerably and we are being pushed nearer the new financial year to deliver - with no guarantee that budget will be available in 19/20 to complete this project.

Annual Infrastructure Rationalisation Decommissioning

• Checking of RedHat/CentOS 6 servers
• Planning of any decommissions that are 'orphaned'

• Python Software Developer been reassigned as previous one was taken up by another project
• Revised Python milestones have been agreed and planned
• No other progress this month

• ASTA discussions have been held with directorate
• Supplier meeting to be planned in June

• Nexus progress was kept separate from Bamboo
• Nexus Build Acceptance Signoff successfully completed mid April
• Nexus Deployed Signoff deployed successfully on 25-April

• Bamboo now delayed until June
• Deprecated code to be identified, could affect up to 40 plans

• Sentry has been re-planned around summer holidays
• Sentry re-planned for June

• Python QA to complete - Puppet Code will go in first (Dev Tech) and Bamboo plan follows after that (Software Dev)

Achievements in Last Period

• No patching strategies completed this month
• Additional components have been raised to include within register, to be reviewed with the project team for inclusion

Issues

• Completion of patching strategies has stopped with little or no activity completed
• Resource assigned to project have been involved or aligned to other priority work and have had no time to work on this project
• It was agreed to hold a workshop session so that the whole team could work on the strategies together away from distractions, this session was arranged for 2nd May however limited acceptance to session which resulted in session being cancelled. PM is arranging further timeslots to complete from we/c 13th May if this fails to result in any progress, the only option will be to suggest that if these meetings are not held soon then we look to withdraw the project as delivery within 18/19 will be unrealistic and there is no budget for 19/20.

INF143 - MySQL Environment Migration

• Puppet build automation has been completed.  There are outstanding Firewall rules to be created and a number of exceptions to be added
• Server mirroring has to be set-up.  This is currently being done manually

Protecting Data in the EDW

Achievements

• The project initiation paper was approved at WIS on the 26th April subject to revisions which were completed on the 29th April.

Issues

• The project has only latterly started and without a proper understanding of scope, timelines could prove to be a challenge to complete all work by end of the reporting year (i.e. end of July).
• Project resource has yet to be identified and secured.

Next Steps

• A technical workshop is to be arranged to confirm project cope, understanding and shape the content of the Project Brief.
• Project planning to be progressed.
