Report by Sue Woodger for February 2019
Achievements in last period
- Reviewed costs and plan for development work with programme manager 20 Feb 19
- DevTech completed Dev build on KB server and modified Bamboo on Dev for Cesar and AIR. Cesar will be the proof of concept application
- DevTech have spent a lot of time (10d) getting Puppet ready – but this has included the building of the Dev server, updated the settings and updated the documentation. This work now has to be signed off by Dev team before DevTech can continue with the build
- DevTech found an issue with one of the frameworks (Coldspring) and put a manual fix on the server and needs someone in Dev to put into version control and create a Bamboo plan. He also needs advice from Dev Team on what branch should be used etc
Issues
- Submitted request for development resource on 6 February and this was answered by resourcing manager on 7/2 that the developer has no time until April. PM then asked who else could do this work but received no reply. PM tried to follow up but resourcing manager was on leave. PM emailed for his return on 18/2 stating that he hadn’t informed who could do this work – PM pointed out that the booking was still in asta and if he couldn’t assign it all can he assign the urgent work (as detailed to him i.e. the work identified in achievements section above) . PM followed this up on 20//192 as still no reply. PM was then copied into an email to developer assigning his time from 1 March to 18 April. There was no acknowledgement of the urgent work to be done to allow continuation of build. This means that work on build cannot continue until after developer has completed those urgent tasks wef 1/3/19. This has delayed build work and revised milestones had to be submitted to WIS 20/2/19.
Next Steps
- Developer to start in urgent tasks wef 1 Mar
- This will then allow DevTech to continue with build work
