Report by Kevin Hone for June 2019

Achievements this Period

  • Steady progress has been made on the project with development effort presently underway for a third and final agile sprint associated with development.
  • The benefit of the agile approach to the project has been the ability to adapt to the raising of change requests and to support the revision of business priorities.
  • All sprint releases have been deferred in order to allow more immediate focus on clearing and testing the backlog of work. There will now be a single release for the entire project.

Issues

  • As much as 25% of development resource time has been lost to competing and unplanned, higher prioritised project demands. In addition, time was also sacrificed to enable interview attendance at short notice over a number of days.  This resulted in a revised delivery focus on the 'Must Have' Jira issues with lower prioritised requirements dropped from a fourth sprint.
  • Non-availability of production resource and further development resource conflict means that the earliest opportunity to deliver the project will now be the last week in July. A change request and additional risks have been raised for this date movement.

Next Steps

  • To complete development and testing  (sprint 3).
  • To prepare for project implementation (sprint 4).
