Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

 

ECA006 Exam Board Enhancements has delivered.

ECA001 Infrastructure wil be delayed as the planned upgrade conflicted with examinations.

Also, a new in-year project ECA007 is needed to address a serious audit issue the portal has with copyrighted material. This aims to delvier by start of term.

ECA have also confirmed they are ready to commit effort and budget to a project to move ECA to SMART, however as HSS are unikley to match funding on a 50/50 basis this remains unlikely for 13/14.

With 8 days in teh balance row, all planned effort is within programme budget.

Achievements in Last Period

  • The Business Requirements has been signed off
  • The Design is ready for sign off in early May
  • Build of Dev environment is almost complete

Issues

  • The timing for the go live may need to move given the availability of staff and the need to avoid infrastructure moves while exam boards are still on (last board 24 June)

Next Steps

  • Sign off the system design
  • Complete Peer Testing
  • Handover to ECA for User Acceptance Testing

I think that if at the end of the exercise ECA could articulate their vision for the portal in the medium term ... more than an VLE, just a VLE, the main resource from where students start ... it would help

Need to chunk up the My Groups requirements and focus on the highest priority - List of Groups for example. After 1) and 2) and 3) are done, then whatever budget is left will be prioritised for My Groups. Do we already have this requirements/task breakdown?
