DTI020 - Notifications Service - Rollout, Integrations and Subscribers

Achievements in last period

• WP0 Apereo Open Source - MyEd and Notifications information presented at ESUP:Portail Days/Apereo by Anne Marie Scott on 5th February 2019

• WP1 - Estimation of key outstanding JIRAs, 6 days effort to be planned in post April

• WP3 Exam Scheduler – some minor changes have been fixed and tested ready for deployment to Live

• Service team with Student Surveys testing notifications and perform load testing

Issues

• Review and revise remaining milestones and assess any impact / dependencies form DTI044
• Main developer resource conflicts with DTI044 and annual leave planned from mid March to mid April therefore WP2 developments may not be able to commence until mid April
• Main developer resource conflicts with other projects to allow investigation into Alma webhooks
• Key helpdesk contact is leaving university at beginning of April

Next steps

• WP2 Library – estimate effort for 2 triggers for Library

• On-going engagement Library and Helpdesk team

• On-going engagement by Service team with Finance to test notifications

• Service notifications for Student Systems to be issued out in March

• Engagement with ACE

Achievements in Last Period

Infrastructure, Framework, UI

• Some work required on scripts to sync MyEd from IDM data (this is on critical path)

• Accessibility testing completed – no issues preventing deployment of release 1.0; accessibility testing will continue in preparation for releases 2.x and 3.x 

• EqIA completed and approved

• Load testing suggests that there are no issues at this point which would prevent us going live with the Preview release.  Load testing will, however, continue during the rest of the project up to the final release in May

Content Migration

• 20 portlets in MVP release 1.0 migrated and signed-off (by service or channel-owner)

• Some outstanding sign-offs

• One portlet on critical path (Library Account / Library Search)

• A small number of portlets won’t be available in the initial release

Communications Plan

• 6/3/19 – Go / No Go decision for release of MVP release 1.0 from Board

• 7/3/19 - email to DOPs (issued by Internal Comms)

• w/c 11/3/19 – email to staff and students (issued by Internal Comms)

• w/c 11/3/19 – posts on staff and student news channels and student eNewsletter (issued by Internal Comms)

• 12/3/19 - demos for Service Desk (two demos back-to-back) 

• 13/3/19 - filming for creation of video communications promoting the forthcoming improvements and benefits to MyEd 

• w/c 18/3/19 - screen savers on open access lab screens and Student Association screens, promoting the changes to MyEd

• w/c 15/4/19 – release of video communications promoting the forthcoming improvements and benefits to MyEd
