Achievements in last period

  • WP1 :
    • Pilot for LTW WGI and project team, evaluation feedback captured
    • Pilot for employ@ed completed at end of July
    • Pilot evaluation for this group will commence to gather feedback
  • WP3 : Estimate for integration work provided by Development resource, overall estimate to be agreed
  • WP4 : Estimation for work package development provided and overall estimate agreed, development work underway
  • WP2 : Re-engagement with Library and Card Services, 6 potential notifications for Library identified and Card Services requirements provided for review

Issues

  • Project team are re-planning work packages for further integration to aid live rollout of the service looking towards January 2018 launch of service
  • WP0 - Issue slide pack for Steering Group to discuss LTW and IS Apps collaboration and appetite for open source within ISG WP0 : Proposal raised to UCP & Notifications Steering group to source funding from Innovations Fund and options to continue in Apereo Open Source community
  • Due to Project Manager now allocated to priority Windows 10 project they have limited time available to complete estimate effort for WP3 and WP4, looking at options where additional support can be provided to progress tasks for project
  • Interim Service Manager role has still to be fulfilled, currently job being advertised - this needs to be in place as soon as possible, preference end of July

Next steps

  • Preparation for demo to DT Governance Board scheduled for 2nd September

    • Review refactoring activity and technical design to update code in preparation to open source

    • Bamboo deployment issues progressed

    • Technical Architecture design improved for build/deploy process

  • UI/UX

    • UI/UX work continuing to improve on baseline, focusing on navigation, favourites functionality and menus 

  • Content Migration – Channel Owner Engagement

    • Service owner engagement - general communication issued

    • Preview content owners directly engaged (LEARN, Calendar, Email, Library)

  • Risk/PICCL and Milestone Logs up-to-date

Next Steps (to mid October) 

  • JIRA stories estimation for Sprints
  • Create UI front-end in DEV for project team review, and student UX validation
  • Test DEV migration of content types (web proxy, CMS, etc)
  • Engagement with channel owners for testing and migration timescales
  • Configure TEST infrastructure and DB
  • Request LIVE infrastructure
