Achievements

• Updated brief with information regarding v1.22 due Oct 2019 to be delivered Oct 2020
• Decision made to withdraw COM048 project information below is a summary of PICCL 1

Relating to a discussion between the CalSync Supplier and the Timetabling Programme Manager on 5-Feb-2019 it has become evident that a decision to withdraw the COM048 project is in the best interest of  the University.

The Timetabling Programme Manager had a call with the supplier of S2 Unified Daniel Dainty re timetabling

• UoE is currently using version 1.20
• Version 1.21 includes tiny bug fixes (which the supplier believes does not affect us)

• However 1.22 is due in October-2019 and Timetabling will require it - and so COM048 project should not upgrade Calsync at this time.

Recommendation that project is withdrawn until October 2019 when the next release should become available

The reasoning behind this decision is that :

• version 1.22 has to go LIVE before October 2020 when the current versions are out of support
• this is related to an authentication change for Office 365 for when the CalSync connector is depreciated - and reaches end of life

• Schedule

• withdraw/close the COM048 project until October 2019 with a Go Live before October 2020.
• there is no business justification to provide an update of version before then
