Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Commentary:

During October, SCE013 ShareLatex and OverLeaf software trial - Business case support was unsuspended and is progressing towards analysing  the usage data collated and producing the business case if appropriate.

The scope and timeframe for SCE014 Creation of a developer community for a College Project Marking Tool has been honed as part of the planning.

The overall status of the SCE programme is GREEN.

Project Info Programme Manager's Commentary

The following proposals were put forward in 2017/18 and are yet to be resourced and started in 2018/19:

  • Support for College EdWeb code sprint
  • Support for GDPR (50 days)

A new proposal has also been approved in Geosciences to move a database to central infrastructure. (20 days)

CSE has a budget of 150 ring fenced days for 18/19,  29 days have been assigned to the following projects:

121 days are yet to be allocated.

Achievements

  • As per the Project Brief and associated project plan it was agreed that the project would be suspended whist the trial of the Overleaf product is underway.
  • The project has been unsuspended to collate and review the trial results and help the business to formulate their business case. There was a delay of 2 weeks in restarting the project while a PM was identified, and the milestones have been adjusted accordingly.

Achievements

  • Arrange 2 workshops for November to compare school marking process and review, gather and prioritise requirements.  Suitable attendance agreed from all schools in the CSE.
  • Re-engaged with Development Services and Production Management regarding the project and the need for consultation support.
  • Consultation arranged with User Experience Manager to discuss tool usability and customer engagement.
  • Project brief, project plan and resource estimates reviewed and updated.  Review process underway to achieve Planning stage sign off.
