There are a wide selection of media resources available to support learning and teaching activities, including the Media Hopper services, Box of Broadcasts, collections that the Library subscribe to; collections that Schools subscribe to; free to use services from outside the University. We also have resources available to support the creation of new media artefacts, and to support multimedia based assessment.
This project will draw together this substantial bank of resources into a new set of web pages, capture existing practice in the form of short case studies, and develop associated training materials that support colleagues to make better use of media in learning and teaching.
The proposal is to employ a student intern to support LTW colleagues to develop this resource - it has been hard to progress this work under BAU to date. They will survey other Universities support resources in this space; collate information about University resources and collections and potential external resources, capture case studies by interviewing academic colleagues (using a pre-defined case study template) and develop training resources. They can also help with the EdWeb publishing effort, though much of the actual drafting and final copy of content will need core LTW staff input.
Better showcase the range of media resources available to use in learning and teaching, including potentially under - utilised collections or services such as Box of Broadcasts.
Support colleagues via practical training resources to find resources and use them within our VLEs. Showcase innovative forms of assessment and support colleagues via practical training to incorporate these into learning and learning.
