Background
As part of the annual Research Infrastructure Refresh budget. £340k was assigned to the purchase of nodes to be assigned to the Openstack Cloud.
These should be purchased and implemented by the end of financial year.
Scope
Purchase Compute nodes to the value of £340k for the use of the Openstack Cloud.
Nodes to be located at the ACF Data Centre with the other Openstack Cloud Infrastructure.
Have the purchase complete and receipted (i.e. the kit onsite) by the end of the financial year.
Out of Scope
Removal of any historic nodes. This project it essentially adding nodes. Not replacing or refreshing.
A refresh strategy needs to be agreed at a strategic level before it can be implemented at Project level.

Benefits
