Overview

Background

Results Into Results Ltd (RIR) is a subsidiary company of the University of Edinburgh.  The supporting IT systems for RIR have been in place for 5 years and so a review has now been commissioned by the Corporate Services' Project Programme & Planning Manager  to validate that they are still fit for purpose and can continue to effectively support RIR Ltd in their research activities over the coming years.

The database/application in place was conceived & implemented by Professor Paul Van Gardingen, the academic lead and a Director at RIR Ltd.  The initial IT support is provided by ERI IT Support Team and the underlying infrastructure and web hosting is supported by EDINA.

This project will undertake a review of the application, underlying databases, infrastructure and support arrangements.  Findings will be documented into a Technical Architecture Document (TAD) which will be accompanied by a summary paper on any potential improvements that may be recommended.
