Achievements this Period

  • Tariff returns received to date were analysed but an extension has been required to allow schools sufficient time.
  • Stakeholder grid and initial training needs document has been drafted and issued to schools for completion. An extension to the end of January has been required to enable schools to complete.
  • Application and Data Architecture document was drafted and is with the Head of Enterprise Architecture for review
  • HR API estimate was completed
  • Overview of the Annual Curriculum, Resource planning and Timetabling cycle developed. This overview is for a communication tool but also as the high-level business process that the dataflow can be overlayed on.
  • Supplier has been drafting the commercials for  implementing the new College WAM.
  • Interim revision of non-Major milestones made to reflect the extensions approved at the Board meeting on 19th December

Issues

  • Current Business Analyst is leaving the University on 24th January. There will be a requirement for analysis beyond this date.
  • Board approved extensions to Schools for return of the tariff document (24th Jan) and the stakeholder document (31st Jan).

Next Steps

  • New BA to be assigned and handover completed if possible
  • Complete analysis of School responses to proposed College WAM due by 31st January (pending new BA being assigned)
  • Project milestones to be fully revised once all Head of School responses have been reviewed and the level of variance is understood
  • Complete documentation of current state dataflow

There are a lot of variations being advised in the Tariff documents being returned from Schools. In addition, some schools have required an extension to complete the exercise. The Impact to the project's major milestones may be delay in delivery and an increased cost as the greater the variance, the more PM and BA time required to deliver.
