Report for November 2019

Key Activities:

Ongoing development of pilot solution to ensure we can establish methods that allow interfaces between Oracle and UoE applications to communicate via WSO2. Still working through issues with SOA/Grouper.
Continuing analysis of architectural model to establish compliance with UoE requirements. All interfaces to/from WSO2 must use an API. More development time may therefore be needed.
Analysis of current SITS data feeds still being carried out. Potential problem with 'Country' field in addresses.
Commencement of analysis of what is involved in interface for Kinetics (Accommodation Services). This has identified potential difficulties in engagement with vendor and access to third party application.
Similarly, analysis of data requirements between Oracle and VRS & SITS has highlighted the need to develop an interface that addresses this newly identified requirement.
Draft PID prepared and submitted to SEP Q & A for review. Final version still being prepared and being planned for submission in mid-December.
Procurement of WSO2 almost completed.

Upcoming activities:

Complete proof of concept for Oracle > IDM feed addressing issues with Grouper & SOA
Implement SSO on test environment (currently delayed because of industrial action)
Investigate extracting HR feeds to file for third party systems (probably using Library ALMA).
Complete PID for Integration project
Continue to assess and document scale of work to be achieved
Create more definite estimates and potential timelines for required work
Continue investigative work on each of the proposed feeds/interfaces for SITS, Student AR, Kinetics, and VRS (these are the highest priority).
Complete acquisition of WSO2 instance and configure this as required.
